The matte black underglaze is overlain with a bronze finish to give each piece an authentic, worn look that’s sophisticated without being showy. The black base layer features a reactive glaze that changes as it’s fired, giving the centre a mottled finish that differs slightly from piece to piece. This, coupled with the imperfect shape of the rim, gives each Ochre bowl a raw, handmade and artisan feel, ideal for teasing out the authentic feel of rustic, natural-look dishes.
